February 2024 Pets of the Month: Meet Carl and Finch!

Carl

“We adopted Carl (aka Mr. Carl Cuddles) 5 years ago from CHA and he is a well known figure of our neighborhood.  His has an invisible fence and he often sits in our front yard and meows at passersby to be pet.  So much so that we had to put a sign in our yard letting people know that they could come onto our sidewalk to pet him.  Many people know our house only as “Carl’s house”.  He is affectionate and a constant presence.  He enjoys drinking out of the toilet and sitting in the bathroom when someone showers.”

Finch

“Finch was a Bexley alley cat that was in very bad shape.  He would not come to us, so we had to figure out how to trap him, which involved trapping multiple possums and several neighbors cats before we were successful.  He was so matted that he had to be completely shaved, and they also had to remove an infected eye and most of his teeth.  We weren’t sure what kind of personality he would have, but once we brought him home he turned out to be the calmest and most gentle giant.  He never lets us out of his sight and nothing fazes him – he sits calmly in the middle of any kind of craziness, just happy to be home, although he is known to steal any kind of food off of your plate and especially loves spaghetti.”

“We love them both very much and could not imagine submitting just one.”
